We moved to our homestead in 2013 looking for a better life, and we've found it. Come take a look.
We raise and keep a variety of animals for a variety of purposes. Some are livestock, some are pets, but all are well cared for and enjoy a good life at the homestead. Meet our animals!
We try to grow as many of our fruits and vegetables as possible. We're currently planning our spring garden, so check back for updates!
We have a number of edible species growing wild on our farm. Some are common such as raspberries, blackberries, grapes and black walnuts. Some are a little more obscure such as Autumn Olive and Chicory. And some require work like tapping maple trees!
We practice subsistence hunting, trapping and fishing. We do our own processing and utilize as much of the animal as possible. We also teach bow hunting lessons and are willing to work with anyone new to hunting, trapping or fishing to help them build their knowledge and gain experience.
I kept bees at the homestead until Covid19. Now that I've recovered, I'm setting up bait hives in hopes of capturing swarms. I'm also available to remove bees from unwanted areas. Thanks to a long shelf life, we still have honey, but I'm anxious to get back to the bees as soon as possible. Can you find the queen in this picture?
Planting native plants is the best way to immediately see butterflies and birds! Our native garden and wild flower meadow provide year-round resources for native species of bugs, butterflies and birds.
Looking for something different this year? Our summer camp offers a great mix of fun, exercise and education! We also have "Reality" Fantasy camps for adults on the weekends.
Our horse farm includes a 20 stall barn, indoor and outdoor riding arena, pastures with automatic waterer's and run-in sheds and many acres of trails. Our farm is currently rented to Daybreak Ranch
